Syros\u00a0is one of the most\u00a0beautiful\u00a0islands of the\u00a0Cyclades and\u00a0became\u00a0one of the\u00a0destinations\u00a0for the\u00a0summer.
\nI\u00a0stayed\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0Halaris\u00a0Hotel\u00a0(I booked through\u00a0booking.com\u00a0)\u00a04 nights\u00a0(60 euros per\u00a0room\u00a0\/day)\u00a0in mid-August, and the\u00a0price\u00a0was excellent for the\u00a0dates.\u00a0You can\u00a0find\u00a0them on their\u00a0page\u00a0in the\u00a0internet\u00a0https:\/\/hotelhalaris.gr\/<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1548″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Respecting\u00a0the glamour that is exuded by the restored neoclassical building which\u00a0houses\u00a0the\u00a0Halaris\u00a0Hotel, the owner family has\u00a0tried\u00a0to\u00a0give\u00a0a stately air in the\u00a0hotel.<\/p>\n

Common\u00a0areas<\/strong><\/h5>\n

On the ground\u00a0floor, you will\u00a0find\u00a0the\u00a0reception,\u00a0lounge, and\u00a0dining room\u00a0as well as the\u00a0elevator\u00a0(with\u00a0music)\u00a0for your service\u00a0in the two\u00a0levels\u00a0that\u00a0feature.
\nThe\u00a0corridors have decorated\u00a0in the\u00a0style\u00a0of an\u00a0old-fashioned\u00a0mansion with gold details on the\u00a0furniture\u00a0and the\u00a0mirrors.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1536″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][vc_column_text]There\u00a0is\u00a0an\u00a0additional\u00a0meeting space for various\u00a0events.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1544″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Room<\/strong><\/h5>\n

As you\u00a0coming\u00a0into\u00a0the double\u00a0room\u00a0with a\u00a0balcony\u00a0and a\u00a0view\u00a0of the\u00a0busy\u00a0street, there\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0large\u00a0mirror with a\u00a0table\u00a0for your items and a\u00a0smaller\u00a0one for the\u00a0suitcase.\u00a0A sunny,\u00a0pretty clean and with simple decoration\u00a0room.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1538″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][vc_column_text]Each\u00a0room\u00a0has\u00a0a tv,\u00a0air conditioning, wi-fi, a fridge, a\u00a0wardrobe\u00a0and a hairdryer in the\u00a0bathroom.\u00a0(ours’ was quite small, and it had a sliding door.)[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1540″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

  • Note 1:<\/strong>\u00a0Each\u00a0room\u00a0has\u00a0an autonomous water heater.<\/li>\n
  • Note 2:<\/strong>\u00a0Apart from the shutters, there\u00a0are\u00a0two\u00a0pairs\u00a0of\u00a0doors\u00a0with a\u00a0gap\u00a0between them\u00a0(apparently\u00a0the\u00a0latter\u00a0was\u00a0added\u00a0to the\u00a0restoration)\u00a0that\u00a0serve\u00a0as\u00a0insulation\u00a0for the\u00a0noise\u00a0from the\u00a0street\u00a0at peak hours.\u00a0Fortunately, because\u00a0all rooms are\u00a0high-ceilinged,\u00a0you\u00a0don’t get warmed at\u00a0night, and\u00a0you\u00a0needn’t\u00a0open\u00a0it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Amenities<\/strong><\/h5>\n

    \u2022\u00a0If check-out has been\u00a0made, but it is\u00a0difficult\u00a0to transport your\u00a0luggage\u00a0around the\u00a0island\u00a0until\u00a0you\u00a0leave,\u00a0you\u00a0can\u00a0ask\u00a0at\u00a0the reception\u00a0to\u00a0place\u00a0them\u00a0in the particular storage area\u00a0until\u00a0you\u00a0desire\u00a0them.
    \n\u2022\u00a0Bonus:\u00a0The hotel has rooms adapted for\u00a0persons with special needs, and I found it is quite sensitive to this.\u00a0In\u00a0fact, at that time, I had a moving problem, and the staff was helpful and more than willing to serve me.<\/p>\n

    The\u00a0owners\u00a0and the\u00a0staff\u00a0were extremely polite and supplied us with excellent\u00a0information about\u00a0the places\u00a0we could\u00a0go\u00a0or have lunch.<\/p>\n

    Breakfast<\/strong><\/h5>\n

    Breakfast\u00a0was\u00a0a\u00a0small\u00a0buffet with\u00a0a basic\u00a0breakfast.\u00a0However, a\u00a0couple\u00a0of local flavors and a homemade cake\u00a0give\u00a0you something\u00a0extra.\u00a0I would\u00a0characterize\u00a0it as simple and satisfactory.\u00a0(unfortunately, I don’t\u00a0have\u00a0a\u00a0photo)<\/p>\n

    Location\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Access<\/strong><\/h5>\n

    The\u00a0hotel\u00a0is\u00a0located\u00a0near the bus stop,\u00a0and you have access to\u00a0shops,\u00a0cafes,\u00a0restaurants,\u00a0supermarkets,\u00a0bank, and\u00a0pharmacies, as well as need just a 10-minute walk from the\u00a0port\u00a0to\u00a0find\u00a0it.\u00a0Unfortunately, it is\u00a0difficult\u00a0for parking as the\u00a0road\u00a0in\u00a0front\u00a0of the\u00a0entrance\u00a0is quite narrow and there is not enough space.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
