[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Budapest is one of Europe’s leading budgetary destinations.<\/span>\u00a0The appropriate seasons to visit<\/span> are<\/span> spring<\/span> or winter<\/span> (when it’s frosty)<\/span>.<\/span> But any time<\/span> you<\/span> choose<\/span>, I’m assured<\/span> you<\/span>‘ll have a good time<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

You<\/span> will visit the Basilica of St. Stephen<\/span><\/strong><\/em> (don’t forget observing the mummified hand<\/span>)<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0the Heroes’ square<\/strong><\/em> and the Margaret Island<\/strong> <\/em>(better to explore<\/span> it in spring<\/span> when everything is blooming)<\/span>,<\/span> but I can’t wait to talk<\/span> to you<\/span> about my favorite spots in the city<\/span>.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2814,2772,2792,2812,2770,2760,2798″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

1. F<\/span>ishermen’s Bastion<\/span>\u00a0and Church of St. Matthias<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Visiting<\/span> the Old Town, you will <\/span>stop at the fishermen’s bastion.<\/span> From there,\u00a0you<\/span> can enjoy<\/span> the most outstanding view of Peste<\/span> and be photographed in front<\/span> of the conical towers that point<\/span> to the scenes<\/span> where the tribes<\/span> of the first Magyars lived.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tip:<\/span><\/strong> If you<\/span> want<\/span> to take<\/span> charming\u00a0pictures,\u00a0I advise<\/span> you<\/span> to go first thing in the morning, <\/span>so you<\/span> don’t confront too many people<\/span>.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Right<\/span> next to it,\u00a0stands<\/span> the neo-Gothic<\/span> church<\/span> of St. Matthias<\/span> (Kaat<\/span>.<\/span> 1874-96)<\/span>.<\/span> Unfortunately, much of its details<\/span> was lost when in 1541 the Turks<\/span> turned<\/span> it<\/span> into a mosque<\/span>.<\/span> During the liberation<\/span> of the Buddha was destroyed<\/span>.<\/span> It<\/span> was rebuilt<\/span>, of course<\/span>, but it<\/span> ruined again.<\/span> Ultimately, it<\/span> restored<\/span> by Friggies<\/span> Sulek<\/span>.<\/span> In the crypt, you will find<\/span> the Museum of ecclesiastical art.<\/span><\/p>\n

In my opinion, the church is the greatest, mainly for the colorful enameled tiles on the roof make it stand out.<\/span> As for the inside, it’s dazzling!<\/span> I visited the church on Christmas days, and the decorations were beautiful.<\/span> It’s\u00a0worth seeing<\/span> the excellent stained glass windows, the depiction<\/span> of the ascension of the Virgin<\/span> Mary (the most magnificent example of Gothic relief in Hungary)<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0the Baroque Virgin<\/span> statue and the tombs<\/span> of King Bella Gai<\/span> of Anna of Chatillon.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2778,2776,2796,2800,2824,2834,2806,2784,2877,2863″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

2.<\/span> Church<\/span> of the cave<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

It’s\u00a0not an ordinary church and will certainly interest you!<\/span> I assure<\/span> you that!<\/span> It was founded in 1926 and belonged to the order<\/span> of the monks<\/span> of Paul.<\/span> The communist regime forced the monks to abandon the church, which reopened in 1989 when the Pope blessed the beautiful altar (designed by Gioso Sikot).<\/span> Don’t forget seeing a copy<\/span> of the Black Virgin Mary and the decorative woodwork of B.\u00a0Ferenc<\/span>.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2790,2786,2828,2746,2744,2808,2822″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

3. Spas<\/strong><\/h5>\n

There is no way\u00a0travel to Budapest and not immerse yourself in the heated waters of its baths.<\/span> The choices<\/span> are too many and different.<\/span> Some of them have<\/span> outdoor pools<\/span> and other indoor pools<\/span>.<\/span> I<\/span>, because I<\/span>‘ve already<\/span> been to an outdoor heated pool<\/span> in\u00a0Greece, I<\/span> thought<\/span> to\u00a0try<\/span>\u00a0an indoor swimming pool<\/span>\u00a0at the Gellert<\/span> Hotel.<\/span> Incredible space, in art<\/span> nouveau layout and two swimming pools<\/span>.<\/span> It’s<\/span> like you’re<\/span> in a spa<\/span> or something.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tip:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0The outdoor pool has\u00a0a wave-making mechanism!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

You can also visit the Szechenyi<\/span> public baths, which\u00a0are<\/span> the most<\/span> beautiful and the most<\/span> famous in Budapest.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2802,2754,2752,2836,2879,2873,2885,2881″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

4.<\/span> Tour on the Danube by private boat<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

When the sun<\/span> goes down, and all the inflorescences light up, get<\/span> on one of the boats<\/span> on the docks<\/span> and enjoy<\/span> the magnificent view.<\/span> The Parliament, the Bridges\u00a0of Chains and Liberty (my beloved)<\/span> and the quarter<\/span> of the tower<\/span>\u00a0which seems different, imposing and romantic.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2768,2818,2748,2859″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

5.<\/span> Gresham<\/span> Palace<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

If you can stay<\/span> at Four<\/em> Seasons Hotel<\/span> <\/strong>which\u00a0housed<\/span> within the Old Palace, stay<\/span>!!!<\/span> I, who am not yet famous<\/span> and a wealthy blogger, just visited<\/span> it and it was stunning<\/span>.<\/span> The Christmas decorations were beautiful and the Art nouveau architecture of the building<\/span>, excellent.<\/span> One of Budapest’s most gorgeous buildings.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2857,2865,2861,2883,2869″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

6. Vajdahunyad Castle<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The most romantic<\/span> part of Budapest is located next to Lake Varosliget<\/span>.<\/span> A castle<\/span> with various architectural styles.<\/span> If you visit\u00a0it in\u00a0winter,\u00a0(like me)<\/span> in the location\u00a0of the lake, you will find an ice rink. Near the castle, you will discover many kiosks that sell traditional food and souvenirs<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Tip:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0If you cross the bridge the is a little paradise of kiosks with<\/span>\u00a0sweets which you<\/span> can enjoy<\/span> while walking in Castle-Park!<\/span><\/em>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2766,2810,2840,2842,2846,2826,2780″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

7. Shoe Memorial<\/strong><\/h5>\n

A monument<\/span> dedicated<\/span> to the 550,000 Hungarian Jews who died<\/span> in 1944-1945.<\/span> You can’t help but be touched<\/span> when you think<\/span> about the history<\/span> of all these people<\/span>.<\/span> Near<\/span> the Chain Bridge, thousands<\/span> of them were shot<\/span> near<\/span> the Danube Bank by their compatriots, Nazi collaborators.<\/span> Before they<\/span> were executed<\/span>, they<\/span> were forced<\/span> to take<\/span> off the most valuable thing they<\/span> had<\/span> on them:<\/span> their shoes<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Forty\u00a0shoes<\/span> from bronze are located<\/span> parallel to the Danube Bank…<\/span> Women<\/span>‘<\/span>s<\/span>, men<\/span>‘s, <\/span>and children<\/span>‘s<\/span>.<\/span> Many people say that it’s the ultimate steps of a chronograph that led<\/span> them to their demise<\/span>…<\/span><\/p>\n

Passers-by leave<\/span> flowers<\/span> and stand a little.<\/span> Some of them take pictures; others pray.<\/span> I<\/span> wished<\/span> I<\/span> could go back in the time<\/span> and change<\/span> it…<\/span> I<\/span> don’t know how…somehow…<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2756,2782,2758″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Ultimately, I would like<\/span> to <\/span>give<\/span> you a tip<\/span>:<\/span> Walk!<\/span> Explore<\/span> the neighborhoods<\/span> of the city<\/span>, explore<\/span> the alleyways,\u00a0gaze<\/span> at the Danube from the bridges, <\/span>and enjoy<\/span> the superb sweets they make<\/span> in every corner<\/span> of the town!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2804″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
