F<\/span><span id=\"446\">ishermen&#8217;s Bastion<\/span>\u00a0and Church of <span id=\"447-448\">St. Matthias<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span id=\"p276\"><span id=\"320-491-492\" class=\"s-ja\">Visiting<\/span> the Old Town, you will <\/span><span id=\"p519\">stop at the fishermen&#8217;s bastion.<\/span><span id=\"p278\"> From there,\u00a0<span id=\"309\">you<\/span> can <span id=\"493-494\">enjoy<\/span> the most outstanding view of <span id=\"295\" class=\"s-rg\">Peste<\/span> and be photographed in <span id=\"452-453\">front<\/span> of the conical towers that <span id=\"454-455\">point<\/span> to the <span id=\"456-457\">scenes<\/span> where the <span id=\"458-459\">tribes<\/span> of the first Magyars lived.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span id=\"p279\">Tip:<\/span><\/strong><em><span id=\"p280\"> If <span id=\"310\">you<\/span> <span id=\"495-496\">want<\/span> to <span id=\"321-497-498\" class=\"s-ja\">take<\/span> charming\u00a0pictures,\u00a0I <span id=\"499-500\">advise<\/span> <span id=\"311\">you<\/span> to go first thing in the <span id=\"460-461\">morning, <\/span>so <span id=\"312\">you<\/span> don&#8217;t confront too many <span id=\"462-463\">people<\/span>.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"p283\"><span id=\"464-465\">Right<\/span> next to it,\u00a0<span id=\"501-502\">stands<\/span> the <span id=\"297\" class=\"s-rg\">neo-Gothic<\/span> <span id=\"466-467\">church<\/span> of <span id=\"468-469\">St. Matthias<\/span> <span id=\"p281\">(<span id=\"296\" class=\"s-rg\">Kaat<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p282\"> 1874-96)<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p284\"> Unfortunately, much of its <span id=\"470-471\">details<\/span> was lost when in 1541 the <span id=\"472\">Turks<\/span> <span id=\"322-503-504\" class=\"s-ja\">turned<\/span> <span id=\"313\">it<\/span> into a <span id=\"473-474\">mosque<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p285\"> During the <span id=\"475-476\">liberation<\/span> of the Buddha was <span id=\"505\">destroyed<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p286\"> <span id=\"314\">It<\/span> was <span id=\"323\" class=\"s-ja\">rebuilt<\/span>, of <span id=\"477-478\">course<\/span>, but <span id=\"315\">it<\/span> ruined again.<\/span><span id=\"p287\"> Ultimately, <span id=\"316\">it<\/span> <span id=\"506-507\">restored<\/span> by <span id=\"298\" class=\"s-rg\">Friggies<\/span> <span id=\"299\" class=\"s-rg\">Sulek<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p288\"> In the crypt, you will <span id=\"508-509\">find<\/span> the Museum of ecclesiastical art.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"p521\">In my opinion, the church is the greatest, mainly for the colorful enameled tiles on the roof make it stand out.<\/span><span id=\"p291\"> As for the inside, it&#8217;s dazzling!<\/span><span id=\"p520\"> I visited the church on Christmas days, and the decorations were beautiful.<\/span><span id=\"p293\"> It&#8217;s\u00a0worth <span id=\"518-519\">seeing<\/span> the excellent stained glass windows, the <span id=\"327-487-488\">depiction<\/span> of the ascension of the <span id=\"317\">Virgin<\/span> Mary <span id=\"p522\"><span id=\"p526\">(the most magnificent example of Gothic relief in Hungary)<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0the Baroque <span id=\"318\">Virgin<\/span> statue and the <span id=\"489-490\">tombs<\/span> of King Bella <span id=\"305\">Gai<\/span> of Anna of Chatillon.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;2778,2776,2796,2800,2824,2834,2806,2784,2877,2863&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span id=\"p0\">2.<\/span><span id=\"p1\"> <span id=\"53-54\">Church<\/span> of the <span id=\"55-56\">cave<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span id=\"p3\">It&#8217;s\u00a0not an ordinary church and will certainly interest you!<\/span><span id=\"p4\"> I <span id=\"73-74\">assure<\/span> you that!<\/span><span id=\"p5\"> It was founded in 1926 and belonged to the <span id=\"57-58\">order<\/span> of the <span id=\"59-60\">monks<\/span> of Paul.<\/span><span id=\"p81\"> The communist regime forced the monks to abandon the church, which reopened in 1989 when the Pope blessed the beautiful altar (designed by Gioso Sikot).<\/span><span id=\"p7\"> Don&#8217;t forget seeing a <span id=\"65-66\">copy<\/span> of the Black Virgin Mary and the decorative woodwork of B.\u00a0<span id=\"10-68\">Ferenc<\/span>.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;2790,2786,2828,2746,2744,2808,2822&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h5><strong>3. Spas<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span id=\"p326\">There is no way\u00a0travel to Budapest and not immerse yourself in the heated waters of its baths.<\/span><span id=\"p327\"> The <span id=\"391-392\">choices<\/span> are too many and different.<\/span><span id=\"p328\"> Some of them <span id=\"396-397\">have<\/span> outdoor <span id=\"334\">pools<\/span> and other indoor <span id=\"335\">pools<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p329\"> <span id=\"339\">I<\/span>, because <span id=\"340\">I<\/span>&#8216;ve <span id=\"343\">already<\/span> been to an outdoor heated <span id=\"336\">pool<\/span> in\u00a0Greece, <span id=\"341\">I<\/span> <span id=\"398-399\">thought<\/span> to\u00a0<span id=\"400-401\">try<\/span>\u00a0an indoor <span id=\"337\">swimming pool<\/span>\u00a0at the <span id=\"333\">Gellert<\/span> Hotel.<\/span><span id=\"p330\"> Incredible space, in <span id=\"393-394\">art<\/span> nouveau layout and two <span id=\"338\">swimming pools<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p331\"> It&#8217;<span id=\"402-403\">s<\/span> like you&#8217;<span id=\"404-405\">re<\/span> in a <span id=\"395\">spa<\/span> or something.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span id=\"p332\">Tip:<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"p134\">\u00a0<em>The outdoor pool has\u00a0a wave-making mechanism!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"p135\">You can also visit the <span id=\"138\">Szechenyi<\/span> public baths, which\u00a0<span id=\"238-239\">are<\/span> the <span id=\"148\">most<\/span> beautiful and the <span id=\"149\">most<\/span> famous in Budapest.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;2802,2754,2752,2836,2879,2873,2885,2881&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span id=\"p61\">4.<\/span><span id=\"p62\"> Tour on the Danube by private boat<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span id=\"p64\">When the <span id=\"96-97\">sun<\/span> goes down, and all the inflorescences light up, <span id=\"105-106\">get<\/span> on one of the <span id=\"98-99\">boats<\/span> on the <span id=\"100\">docks<\/span> and <span id=\"107-108\">enjoy<\/span> the magnificent view.<\/span><span id=\"p65\"> The Parliament, the Bridges\u00a0of Chains and Liberty <span id=\"p63\">(my beloved)<\/span> and the <span id=\"101-102\">quarter<\/span> of the <span id=\"103-104\">tower<\/span>\u00a0which seems different, imposing and romantic.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;2768,2818,2748,2859&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span id=\"p95\">5.<\/span><span id=\"p96\"> <span id=\"101\" class=\"s-rg\">Gresham<\/span> Palace<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span id=\"p97\">If you can <span id=\"102-141-142\">stay<\/span> at <strong><em>Four<\/em> <span id=\"137-138\">Seasons Hotel<\/span> <\/strong>which\u00a0<span id=\"143\">housed<\/span> within the Old Palace, <span id=\"103\">stay<\/span>!!!<\/span><span id=\"p98\"> I, who am not yet <span id=\"105\">famous<\/span> and a wealthy blogger, just <span id=\"106\">visited<\/span> it and it was <span id=\"107\">stunning<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p99\"> The Christmas decorations were beautiful and the Art nouveau architecture of the <span id=\"139-140\">building<\/span>, excellent.<\/span><span id=\"p100\"> One of Budapest&#8217;s most gorgeous buildings.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;2857,2865,2861,2883,2869&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h5><strong>6. Vajdahunyad Castle<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span id=\"p145\">The most <span id=\"156\">romantic<\/span> part of Budapest is located next to Lake <span id=\"150\" class=\"s-rg\">Varosliget<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p146\"> A <span id=\"194-195\">castle<\/span> with various architectural styles.<\/span><span id=\"p218\"> If you visit\u00a0it in\u00a0winter,\u00a0<span id=\"p217\">(like me)<\/span> in the location\u00a0of the lake, you will find an ice rink. Near the castle,<span id=\"p149\"> you will discover many kiosks that sell traditional food and souvenirs<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span id=\"p148\">Tip:<\/span><\/strong><em><span id=\"p149\">\u00a0I<span id=\"p218\">f you cross the bridge the is a little paradise of kiosks with<\/span>\u00a0sweets which <span id=\"154\">you<\/span> can <span id=\"216-217\">enjoy<\/span> while walking in Castle-Park!<\/span><\/em>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;2766,2810,2840,2842,2846,2826,2780&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h5><strong>7. Shoe Memorial<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span id=\"p146\">A <span id=\"234-235\">monument<\/span> <span id=\"264-265\">dedicated<\/span> to the 550,000 Hungarian Jews who <span id=\"266-267\">died<\/span> in 1944-1945.<\/span><span id=\"p147\"> You can&#8217;t help but be <span id=\"268-269\">touched<\/span> when you <span id=\"270-271\">think<\/span> about the <span id=\"236-237\">history<\/span> of all these <span id=\"238-239\">people<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p148\"> <span id=\"163\">Near<\/span> the Chain Bridge, <span id=\"240-241\">thousands<\/span> of them were <span id=\"272-273\">shot<\/span> <span id=\"164\">near<\/span> the Danube Bank by their compatriots, Nazi collaborators.<\/span><span id=\"p149\"> Before <span id=\"165\">they<\/span> were <span id=\"274-275\">executed<\/span>, <span id=\"166\">they<\/span> were <span id=\"276-277\">forced<\/span> to <span id=\"278-279\">take<\/span> off the most valuable thing <span id=\"167\">they<\/span> <span id=\"172-280-281\">had<\/span> on them:<\/span><span id=\"p150\"> their <span id=\"242-243\">shoes<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"p151\">Forty\u00a0<span id=\"244-245\">shoes<\/span> from <span id=\"246-247\">bronze are located<\/span> parallel to the Danube Bank&#8230;<\/span><span id=\"p152\"> <span id=\"159-248-249\" class=\"s-or\">Women<\/span><span id=\"159\" class=\"s-or\">&#8216;<\/span><span id=\"159-282-283\" class=\"s-or\">s<\/span>, <span id=\"160-250-251\" class=\"s-rg\">men<\/span><span id=\"160\" class=\"s-rg\">&#8216;s, <\/span>and <span id=\"161-252-253\" class=\"s-rg\">children<\/span><span id=\"161\" class=\"s-rg\">&#8216;s<\/span>.<\/span><span id=\"p153\"> Many people say that it&#8217;s the ultimate steps of a chronograph that <span id=\"173-284-285\">led<\/span> them to their <span id=\"254-255\">demise<\/span>&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"p154\">Passers-by <span id=\"174-286-287\">leave<\/span> <span id=\"256-257\">flowers<\/span> and stand a little.<\/span><span id=\"p294\"> Some of them take pictures; others pray.<\/span><span id=\"p156\"> <span id=\"168\">I<\/span> <span id=\"291-292\">wished<\/span> <span id=\"169\">I<\/span> could go back in the <span id=\"260-261\">time<\/span> and <span id=\"176-293-294\">change<\/span> it&#8230;<\/span><span id=\"p157\"> <span id=\"170\">I<\/span> don&#8217;t know how&#8230;somehow&#8230;<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;2756,2782,2758&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span id=\"p179\">Ultimately, I would <span id=\"224-225\">like<\/span> <span id=\"187\">to <\/span><span id=\"187-188-226-227\">give<\/span> you a <span id=\"210-211\">tip<\/span>:<\/span><span id=\"p180\"> Walk!<\/span><span id=\"p181\"> <span id=\"182-228\">Explore<\/span> the <span id=\"212-213\">neighborhoods<\/span> of the <span id=\"184-214-215\">city<\/span>, <span id=\"183-229\">explore<\/span> the alleyways,\u00a0<span id=\"216-217\">gaze<\/span> at the Danube from the <span id=\"218-219\">bridges, <\/span>and <span id=\"230-231\">enjoy<\/span> the superb sweets they <span id=\"232-233\">make<\/span> in every <span id=\"220-221\">corner<\/span> of the town!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2804&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Travel to beautiful Budapest and get to fathom its secrets.
