How to plan a journey!

Well, did you select your destination? Did you find travel buddies? Did you arrange the employee permission? What does it go on?

The next step is to organize and prepare for your trip, which is the best part for me!

So, let’s start making a list of the things that you need to do.

1. Tickets and accommodation

First, you are looking for the dates you want, at least two months ago, on the following sites booking your tickets.:

The sites are connected with many airline companies, and the best choice is given to you. If you won’t stay in the city which you land, it needs to calculate the right time of your arrival at the hotel. So, be careful with the hours of departure and return. Then, you should decide how many days you want to stay and to enter in one of the accommodation sites.

Note: For ship tickets I recommend:

Then think about how many days you want to stay there and then browse in a hotel search platform and compare prices for hotels, apartments or hostels. I usually use one of the following sites:

Extra tip:

We always use anonymous browsing through the internet because of cookies the prices seem higher.

2. Important documents

Depending on your destination, you ought to check the travel documents that you need: id card, passport, travel insurance (check worldnomads.com) and visa. Don’t leave it to the last minute! As I have mentioned again, it is useful to get a copy of all documents for safety reasons.

3. Vaccines (African or Asian countries usually)

Take care of vaccines and appropriate medicines if you think your health will be affected.

4. Reading

Reading is half of all is what I’d say. Learn about the history, culture, culture, monuments, and the attractions of your destination and choose what you are interested in visiting.

5. Attractions, food, entertainment

Lists, lists, lists….

List of everything.

  • What do you want to see;
  • Want to taste local flavors;
  • Where you can drink the best cocktails;
  • What events are organizing on the dates you will travel;

Extra tip: Also, it would be useful to book excursions or tickets for museums via the Internet. So you won’t be anxious about them for the duration of your stay.

6. Means of transport

Find out about the means of transportation:

  • Metro
  • Buses
  • Trains
  • Ships
  • Uber

If you don’t rent a car, print maps of the metro and bus routes and find if the best way for you is to use a city bus pass (daily or a week).

See how you can go to the sights and what transportation is suitable for you. I, because I’m a perfectionist, I  always find the routes I want via google maps and write them down.

7. Program
  • Search and find days and hours of any monuments you want to visit or the activities that interest you to organize your time better.
  • Make an initial plan with the activities you prefer to do and divide it into days.
  • Note shops and dining outlets which are located in the surrounding area.

8. Suitcase

A few days before the trip check the temperatures and get the appropriate clothes. Don’t take unnecessary things with you because you’ll regret it when it’s time to put the groceries in your suitcase.

9. Check-in

Don’t forget your check-in via the Internet when the air company allows it. If you only have your hand luggage, that’s really useful!

10. Leave colleagues, family and live the dream!
