For breakfast, I ate homemade pizza. Yes, the buffet beside the popular variety, contained pizza that I devoured it!
Saying goodbye to the beautiful, mountain scenery and departed for the city of Edessa. I had been there before, of course, but it does not get enchanted by the lush green landscape and waterfalls are in abundance. My favorite section is behind the big waterfall! Of course, the water squirts and maybe sliding in but the feeling of being behind the rock and see the running water is peaceful. (and if it comes in contrast with the recklessness of the water).
Our last and snowy location was the monastery of Panagia Sumela.
The Holy Monastery of Panagia Sumela the Monastery of Sumela, is a famous Christian orthodox monastery near Trabzon, the symbol for 16 centuries, of the Pontic Hellenism.
With cold hands (I had forgotten my gloves in the suitcase) I took terrific photos of the Kastania village which locates below the monastery) and of course the temple and nature around.
After we ate at one of the restaurants that were around and drunk hot salep (drink) we took the road back to Patras.
